On Friday, April 5 2019, Maestro Matthew Kasper will lead the members of the Phoenix Youth Symphony in a program of classical and chamber music on stage at King of Glory Lutheran Church. The eighty members of the Youth Symphony will present chamber ensembles and a full chamber orchestra. The evening’s program will include Robert Schuman’s Symphony No. 2 in C Major, Op. 61 and Jean Sibelius Suite Characteristique for harp and strings.
The Phoenix Youth Symphony is Arizona’s premier youth orchestra program. PYS provides the highest quality of orchestral training and education for students ranging from grades 2-12. The program consists of seven ensembles involving 250 students; Prelude Strings, String Orchestra, Symphonic Winds, Chamber Winds, Percussion Ensemble, Symphonette Orchestra and the Youth Symphony.
